School Announcements

Mr. Grant's Canadian Roots tour group will meet in his class, room 222 at lunchtime today (Wednesday)

There will a be meeting for anyone interested in joining the HTH Drama group for the Drama Festival this FRIDAY at lunch in the Dinn Theatre.  Bring your lunch!  Junior and Senior members welcomed.

 

Congratulations to Lauren Ryan who was the recipient of the individual sportsmanship award for Holy Trinity High at the 4A Softball Provincials. 

 

Congratulations to the Junior Boys Softball Team who competed hard this week and represented Holy Trinity High proudly winning Silver! Members of the team are asked to return their jerseys to Mr. Martin by Thursday October 18th.

Grade 8 Boys Basketball Tryout time Wednesday is changed to 8:30 to 9:30 pm

Just a reminder that recycling will take place after school on Thursday with Mr. Martin and if you need your career hours this is a great way to get them.  We will meet in the cafeteria. 



This coming Friday will be Pyjamarama Day at Holy Trinity High School!  Please bring some spare change to support the Janeway.


Students in Grade 9 that are going on the November trip are reminded that there will be a parent-traveler meeting on Wednesday, October 25th at 7 PM in the school gymnasium. All travelers and at least 1 parent or guardian are expected to attend. Please remind your parents or guardians that your photo ID and MCP cards will need to be collected at this meeting and they should be brought along with you for the meeting.


Students in Mr. Hammond's Grade 9 travel group - his small group of 8 students, NOT the entire group of travelers - are asked to bring along their lunch and meet in Mr. Hammond's classroom on Wednedsay, October 18th. He would like to meet and chat with his small group of 8 on that day in anticipation of the trip. Please do your best to be there at this time.

 

Congratulations to the girls softball team who competed hard this weekend and represented Holy Trinity High with pride and true sportsmanship! Members of the team are asked to return their jerseys to Mr. Norman by Wednesday October 18th.

Volunteer Opportunity (Career Hours)

Torbay Folk Arts Council are looking for student volunteers to support the library for the following events.  Interested students can contact pamandrod@nl.rogers.com  

Saturday, October 14th - Jigg's Dinner: For this night (the dinner is buffet style) they are looking for students to help clear tables and help with clean up.

Saturday, October 21st - Concert and Closing Ceremony  For the concert we are looking for students to for set up at 10 am, students to take tickets and sell 50/50 tickets from 6:30 to 9:00 and students to take down chairs at the end of the show.

 

Picture Retakes
LifeTouch picture retakes will be done at 8: 15 AM on October 25th, 2017.Students requiring retakes are asked to return their original photo to the office before retake day - Oct 25th.

 

Professional Learning School Closeout
Holy Trinity High School will be closed to students on Thursday, October 26th due to a NLESD Professional Learning close out.  


Cap & Gown

The following information for our 2017 HTH Graduates and their Parents or Guardians for Cap and Gown.  Registration was mailed out October 4th 2017.  This information must be returned on or before October 16. 2017.
Please see the attached document that must be returned. Cap & Gown is Thrusday November 23rd  at 7:00 pm.

 

Softball Tournament

The Junior Boys Softball team are hosting a tournament  October 10th -15th. Please see the attached schedule.

Graduated Licencing Program

A graduated licencing program  will be held by Arrive Alive Driving School at Holy Trinity High School during the weekends of October 21,22,&28,29.   The cost is $ 600 taxes included.  For further details contact Scott Sharpe at 682-0571, or at  scottysharpe@hotmail.com

Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting

The new Assessment, Evaluation, and Reporting Policy was approved in June 2017 by the board of the NLESD. The policy is effective September 5, 2017. The associated Administrative Regulations are a working draft for the 2017-2018 school year.
